2005 is commonly referred to as one of California’s best Pinot Noir vintages, and this wine is a prime example. It has aged beautifully.
We handcrafted this wine with Pommard and Dijon 114, 667 & 777 Pinot Noir clones. The grapes were grown in two separate vineyards approximately two miles apart on – 122°47′ longitude, 14 miles east of the Pacific Ocean. Fog routinely crawls up the Russian River, blanketing these vineyards at night, maintaining an ideal environment for slow maturation.
Aged 11 months in 100% 1-year-old French oak.
Full, rich, ripe open Pinot Noir – A complex Russian River Valley Pinot, this is a pleasure with redolent mature red fruit notes, hints of autumnal leafy character often associated with Oregon Pinots. Broad, rich, supple and delicious on the palate, the wine retains its silky texture throughout the finish.
Decant one hour in advance.
